Thank you for purchasing a pup from us. All of our dogs are raised as part of our family in our home where the mom and dad also reside. Our dogs are well socialized by us, family, friends, groomers and vets.
We have written this contract for the protection of both the breeder and the buyer. However, it is primarily written to protect the health, happiness and well-being of the puppy.
It is our responsibility as BREEDERS to deliver a healthy and happy puppy to you. All of our puppies are examined and given their 1st age-appropriate vaccine by a licensed veterinarian. It is our recommendation that you take your new puppy to a veterinarian of your choice to have your puppy examined as well within 72hrs from the date of purchase. If within 72hrs of the signed and dated contract & guarantee or (shipped date if pup is shipped), a licensed veterinarian finds any life threatening health issues or congenital defects with your new puppy bought by us (THE BREEDERS) you may return the pup to us and we will replace the puppy with a puppy of the same or greater value on the next litter or if requested, refund what you paid in exchanged for that puppy back. You must include any medical records, contract & health guarantee as well as any registration papers if given with the pup. Also include a written letter from the veterinarian with the vet's name, address, phone number and written statement of the health issue signed by the vet.
1.It is up to us as the breeder when the puppy is ready to go to a new home. The normal age when they are ready is 8 weeks old. Sometimes we hold them a little longer if they are smaller than we like them to be.
2.The puppy is guaranteed to be in good health at the time of sale as stated by our veterinarian.
3.As previously listed, the puppy will be given the 1st vaccine and deworming at 2,4,6 & 8 weeks of age. It is very important that you continue the vaccinations series as suggested by your veterinarian. If your puppy misses his/her appointments, your puppy may have to start the vaccination process all over again. Please do not expose your puppy to other dogs, doggie parks or outdoors walking on the grounds until he/she has completed the entire vaccination series with your veterinarian. It is our suggestion to make your appointment early for your vet due to vets heavy volume of appointments and to make sure you’re set for your 72hours window that we require your puppy to be seen.
4. The buyer must have the puppy examined by a Licensed Vet within 72-hours of receiving the puppy. If
within 72 hours, a Licensed Vet finds the puppy to be unhealthy or unfit for sale, the puppy may be exchanged or returned providing the puppy has not been injured. The veterinarian must provide a written statement to the BREEDERS deeming the puppy "unhealthy for purchase". The Vet must include their name as well as the practice name, address and phone number. In the event that a puppy passes within the year while in the buyer’s possession, a necropsy must be done showing the cause of death.
5. This guarantee does not cover any health issues caused by neglect or injury from the buyer.
6. This guarantee does not include minor illnesses and health issues such as colds, allergies, internal or external parasites or umbilical hernias. However, the breeder will disclose any known illnesses or health issues prior to the sale.
7. The breeder will not assume responsibility for this puppy after 72hours of the sale. It is the responsibility of the buyer to care for the puppy properly and keep the puppy free from harm. Please
remember that your puppy must be treated with much care and protected from any dangerous surroundings. They are just like little babies as they are.
8. The breeder assumes no responsibility for any medical expenses incurred after the sale.
9. The breeder assumes no responsibility for training difficulties or behavioral problems. There are plenty
of free Youtube video’s on how to train your puppy. And/or after your puppy as had all of his/her vaccination process, you can enroll your puppy in an obedience class at places like Petco or google puppy training in your area. The number one rule of potty-training accidents: DO NOT Let Your Puppy Roam the house unattended.
10 The breeder does not guarantee exact size. We will give the buyer the weight of the puppy’s parents and the weight of other puppies out of that mating or previous littermates weights. We can give the buyer an educated guess as to full grown weight, but there are too many variables besides genetics.
11 The puppy is sold as a pet only with limited or unlimited registration and does not guarantee the ability to be placed in shows. The puppy is strictly sold as a pet only. However, the buyer can check with the registry that the puppy is registered under to see if they have agility classes available that your puppy can participate in.
12 The breeder gives a one-year health guarantee against any congenital defects. If something should occur between the time of purchase and up to that year and the buyers vet states that the puppy has a life threatening-congenital defect or the puppy passes; a necropsy must be done to determined cause of death. In both cases, all findings must be submitted to us the breeder with the vet’s name and on letterhead of the veterinarian office. The buyer has an option of receiving another puppy during the next litter or receive a refund for the amount the buyer paid for the puppy.
13 The BREEDERS are not responsible for any shipping charges. We will deliver your puppy to you for no more than 70 miles from our home to yours for an additional fee of .75 per miles going and coming to cover gas. If your puppy needs to be shipped, we can set you up with a flight nanny that will fly your puppy to your nearest airport. Flight Nanny’s have their own separate fee and that must be discussed between you the buyer and the flight nanny.
14 When you receive your puppy, he/she will be too young to set schedules for eating. Therefore, we recommend that you leave their food, water and have a section for your puppy to relieve themselves until they are able to be put on a schedule to eat and go outside. Your puppy is eating Royal Canine “Puppy/Chiot 2-10 months “small/petit”(chicken & rice) If your puppy does not eat enough, your puppy could develop Hypoglycemia. Please read below.
HYPOGLYCEMIA: If for some reason your puppy goes from actively playing and then at some point start shaking, appears weak, lack of coordination, loss of appetite, pale gums or looks drunk, or just laying around after being so playful, you puppy may be dealing with Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) That could be due to the puppy not eating enough. Because the puppy is still young and growing; please leave the puppy’s food and water where they can have access to it at all times. Puppies needs to eat to remain their health and gain strength.
If you notice your puppy with those systems, give your puppy a high concentrated source of sugar such as Karo syrup, pancake syrup or a product call “High Calorie Nutritional Gel for Puppies” (Nutri Cal) and contact your vet immediate if this happens more than once. Illness death due to hypoglycemia is not covered under this guarantee because any puppy released by yorkiesbylindsay has not had issues with hypoglycemia while with us. Any issue our puppies may have had would be disclosed to you prior to final sale. If an issue with hypoglycemia arises after they left our home, we will not take responsibility because we have no control over when and how often your puppy is fed. We can only list signs of hypoglycemia to make you aware of ways to avoid your puppy from getting it and to let you know how serious it is. Take notice of how much your puppy is eating and how often. If you change their food, please do it gradually by adding equal amount old/new and slowing reducing less old to new. If the food is changed abruptly, it will upset the puppy stomach or give him/her diarrhea. When they get to at 16-18 weeks old, you can schedule their meals according to your work schedule if you work outside the home. (When you take your puppy to your vet, ask as many question’s that you need to. Even your pet’s diet, food intake and estimate weight full grown. Every question that you have is important.
15 Your puppy will be sold as pet only with either AKC, APRI or CKC registration papers. If the buyer decides that they want to breed; there is an additional breeding rights fee required by the breeder and not the registries. If interested in breeding, please contact the breeder to discuss the additional fee. If at a later date, you decide that you want breeding rights; you have 2years to request it. Please give us a call if you desire to breed later on.
Photography: We’re proud of our puppies and happy to see them finally meet and leave with their new owners. We kindly ask if we could take a picture of you and your puppy and post it on our website. We also love to see future photo’s of the puppy you purchased. So please don’t hesitate to send them to us. It also helps us to show other buyers what their puppy will look like in the future.
