CONTRACT & HEALTH GUARANTEE
Thank you for purchasing a pup from us. All of our dogs are raised as part of our family in our home where the mom and dad also reside. Our dogs are well socialized by us, family, friends, groomers and vets.
We have written this contract for the protection of both the breeder and the buyer. However, it is primarily written to protect the health, happiness and well-being of the puppy.
It is our responsibility as BREEDERS to deliver a totally healthy and happy puppy to you. All of our pups are examined and given their 1st age appropriate vaccine by a licensed veterinarian. It is our recommendation that you take your new pup to a veterinarian of your choice and get your new pup checked as well within 72hrs from the date of purchase. If within 72hrs of the signed and dated contract & guarantee or (shipped date if pup is shipped), a licensed veterinarian finds any life threatening health issues or congenital defects with your new pup bought by us (THE BREEDERS) you may return the pup to us and we will replace the pup with a pup of the same or greater value on the next litter or if requested, refund what you paid in exchanged for that pup back. You must include any medical records, contract & health guarantee as well as registration papers given with the pup as well as a written letter from the veterinarian with the vet’s name, address, phone number and written statement of the health issue signed by the vet. If you decide to keep the puppy, We(the breeders of Yorkiesbylindsay) will be released of the responsibility of replacing, treating or refunding the purchased price of the puppy.
1. It will be up to us, the breeders, to decide when the puppy will be ready to go to its new home. Usually at the age of 8 weeks, depending on the weight of the puppy and if the puppy is totally weaned from the mother. We will not, under any circumstances, let the puppy leave before the pup is ready. There is an additional $10 a day charge for puppies kept longer than 8 weeks of age or 1 week after the scheduled appointment pick up date or if delivery date is delayed or rescheduled by the buyer. If communicated, we will hold the puppy up to 10weeks.
2. The puppy is guaranteed to be in good health at the time of sale.
3. The puppy will be given the 1st vaccine and worming as scheduled at the time puppy is handed over to the new owner(s). It is very important that you continue the vaccinations and worming schedule as suggested by your vet. If your puppy misses his/her appointments, your puppy may have to start the process all over again. Please do not expose your puppy to other dogs that are not vaccinated until he/she has completed the entire vaccination schedule with your vet which is around 16-20 weeks old.
4. The puppy will have been vet checked and deemed in good health at the time of the sale.
5. The buyer, at their own expense, should have the puppy examined by a Licensed Vet within 72-hours of receiving the puppy.
6. Documentation must be sent to the breeder within 10 days in order for the Health Guarantee to be honored.
7. Again, if within 72 hours, a Licensed Vet finds the puppy to be unhealthy or unfit for sale, the puppy may be exchanged provided the puppy has not been injured or neglected. The veterinarian must provide a written statement to the BREEDERS deeming the puppy “unhealthy for purchase”. The Vet must include their name as well as the practice name, address and phone number.
8. This guarantee does not cover any health issues caused by neglect or injury from the buyer.
9. This guarantee does not include minor illnesses and health issues such as colds, allergies, internal or external parasites or umbilical hernias. However, the breeder will disclose any known illnesses or health issues prior to the sale.
10. The breeder will not assume responsibility for this puppy after 72-hours of the sale. It is the responsibility of the buyer to care for the puppy properly and keep it free from harm. Please remember that your puppy must be treated with great care and protected from any dangerous surroundings.
11. The breeder assumes no responsibility for any medical expenses incurred after the sale.
12. The breeder assumes no responsibility for training difficulties or behavioral problems. There are plenty of free Youtube video’s on how to train your puppy. And/or after your puppy as had all of his/her vaccination process, you can enroll your pup in a obedience class at places like Petco or google puppy training in your area.
13. The breeder does not guarantee size. We will give the buyer the weight of the puppy’s parents and the weight of other puppies out of that mating or previous littermates weight. We can give the buyer an educated guess as to full grown weight, but there are too many variables besides genetics.
14. The puppy is sold as a pet and does not guarantee the ability to be placed in shows. The puppy is strictly sold as a top quality pet. However, the buyer can check with AKC , CKC or APRI to see if they have agility classes available that your puppy can participate in.
15. The breeder gives a one-year health guarantee against any congenital defects of the puppy. If this should occur then the puppy should be returned to the breeder, and the buyer will receive a full refund paid for the puppy. Please note that the buyer must take the puppy to the vet within 72hrs of pick up or delivery for the guarantee to be honored. Proof of the date of visitation is required.
16. The BREEDERS are not responsible for any shipping charges. We will deliver your pup to you no more than 70 miles from our home to yours for an additional fee of .75 per miles going and coming to cover gas. If your pup needs to be shipped, we can set you up with a flight nanny that will fly your pup to your nearest airport. Flight Nanny’s have their own separate fee and that must be discussed between you the buyer and the flight nanny.
17. When you receive your pup, he/she will be too young to set schedules for eating. Therefore, we recommend that you leave their food, water and have a section for your pup to relieve themselves until they are able to be put on a schedule to eat and go outside. If your puppy does not eat enough, your pup could develop Hypoglycemia. Please read below:
HYPOGLYCEMIA: If for some reason your puppy goes from actively playing and then at some point starts shaking, appears weak, lack of coordination, loss of appetite, pale gums or looks drunk, or just laying around after being so playful, your puppy maybe dealing with Hypoglycemia(low blood sugar). That could be due to the puppy not eating enough. Because the puppy is still young and growing; please leave the puppy’s food and water where they can have access to it at all times. Puppies needs to eat to remain their health and gain strength.
If you notice your puppy with those systems, give your puppy a high concentrated source of sugar such as Karo syrup, pancake syrup or a product called “High Calorie Nutritional Gel for Puppies” (Nutri Cal) and contact your vet immediately if this happens more than once. Illness/death due to hypoglycemia is not covered under this guarantee because any puppy released by yorkiesbylindsay has not had issues with hypoglycemia while with us. Any issue our puppies may have had would be disclosed to you prior to final sale. If an issue with hypoglycemia arises after they left our home, we will not take responsibility because we have no control over when and how often your puppy is fed. We can only list signs of hypoglycemia to make you’re aware of ways to avoid your puppy from getting it and to let you know how serious it is. Take note of how much the puppy is eating and how often. If you change their food, please do it gradually as it will upset their stomachs. When they get to age -16-18 weeks old, you can schedule their meal’s according to your work schedule if you work outside the home. (When you take your puppy to your vet, ask as many questions that you need to. Even your pet’s diet, food intake and estimated weight full grown). Every question that you have is important.
